Science Methods 1

Grace Stutting

  1. How can you apply what you've learned to your teaching in the future?
I will definitely use then activities we used today in my future classroom. I thought they were well thought out and definitely beneficial because our teacher used them in his own classroom.
I will also use the type of charts we learned about because it makes our students able to visually see the work they did as they conduct experiments.

  1. What did you learn this week?
We learned about the issues that come from measuring things because of skewed rulers, items and so on. This was very new to me because I always grew up with science having exact answers which is not always the case.
We learned about mass, volume, magnetisms, electricity and if items sink or float. This was very helpful for me because many of the outcomes surprised me. I did not think any of our items would cause electricity or light to occur but many things did!
  1. Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew?
I knew that some things would be magnetic but I was very confused when the clay was magnetic. It just goes to show we are always learning as future teachers and need to stay curious like our students.
