WEEK 11 BLOG

  1. What did you learn this week?
This week we did many different experiments that were all about physical science. One of the activities we did was putting m&ms in water and seeing what happened. This entire class was about being good observers which is very important in the elementary classrooms. I learned how important it is to notice things, why they are happening and what it means.

  1. Which parts did you find clear and which were confusing?
I was confused with why some things did what they did. Like during the ice melting activity I was positive it would melt faster on wood and when we did it it melted way fasted on the metal. I still do not know why that happened. I found it very clear when we did the activity with the plunger just because that makes sense to me previously.

  1. How can you apply what you've learned to your teaching in the future?
I will for sure use these activities in my future classroom. I learned so much more by doing experiments rather than reading out of a textbook and just memorizing things for a test. This way students can actually know and understand what and why things are being done.
